declared UDI from Mother England around 1965. UDI is Unilateral Declaration of Independence. He was immediately branded a traitor for which he could give a shit about. Years later a conference took place on a train over the Victoria Falls Bridge including Joshua Nkomo, Robert Mugabe and Ian Smith to negotiate the handing over of Rhodesia back to the local people or Tribes--- Mugabe muscled Nkomo out and became President of the new Zimbabwe.
